Unspectacular Landscapes Made Spectacular by History
Project Mentor: Caitlin Berrigan

Survey Description: Berrigan and I worked apart geographically but together in spirit at two lakes: Walden Pond (USA) and Krumme Lanke (Germany), metaphorically superimposing the two bodies of water. Each collaborator created "souvenir postcards" using a homemade wearable camera lucida. Postcard drawings were made at predetermined corresponding locations on the two ponds, and were sent across the Atlantic to each other via air mail.
